The Society of the Hus Museum in Prague once again announces a fellowship for doctoral students from the Czech Republic, named after Fide Pfister, the gracious host of Jan Hus in Constance prior to his imprisonment. The fellowship is jointly administered by SHMP, the Centre for Medieval Studies, and University of Konstanz.

The purpose of the fellowship is to support research stays in Constance, particularly for work in the local university library, which holds an extensive reference collection of medievalist scholarship.

Successful applicants will be provided with ten days of free accommodation at the Hus House, reimbursement of travel expenses, and a stipend of €250. In addition, they will receive a copying/scanning card, and bicycle is available upon request. The exact dates of the stay will be arranged flexibly, depending on the capacities of the Hus House.

Applicants are asked to submit a brief description of their research project (up to one standard page), together with a CV, to novotny@flu.cas.cz (this address may also be used for any inquiries).

In 2026, two fellowships are expected to be awarded.

The application deadline for this year is 20 June 2026.
