The book belongs to the genre of ego-histoire, yet it is also, in part, an authentic testimony to the scholarly endeavours of a generationally interconnected group of Czech and international historians of the late Middle Ages. The first part of the volume consists of collections of critical reviews and shorter texts that illuminate international debates on the place of Hussitism and the Bohemian Reformation within the broader history of Europe.
The second part presents portraits of leading medievalists and discussions of their major works, while the third section includes commemorative sketches and obituaries.
