This collection of studies on the earliest history of Bohemia grew out of lectures delivered by leading Czech scholars on the occasion of the exhibition “Central Europe around the Year 1000.” Their aim was to highlight the results of the most recent research into a wide range of political and cultural phenomena associated with the integration of emerging Central European monarchies into a broader European context.
