This extensive collective monograph examines the library of the Augustinian canonry in Roudnice nad Labem (founded by John IV of Dražice in 1333), which became an important centre of learning in pre-Hussite Bohemia. The volume presents a series of studies on the history of the library, the literary activity of the Roudnice canons, and selected groups of manuscripts as well as individual noteworthy codices.

It is followed by a catalogue of the Roudnice manuscripts and several indices. The publication is accompanied by numerous illustrations.
