Scholarships
The CMS will be happy to consider supporting applications of eligible researchers for a range of scholarships awarded by various funding bodies. Please contact us if interested in any of the scholarships and programmes listed below.
The CMS is also able to host and provide affiliation to foreign scholars who plan to come to Prague for a research stay with whatever funding.
Research visit to the Institute of Philosophy
• financial support (up to CZK 300.000) for research visits by established foreign researchers
• the length of stay is set for at least three months
• awarded by the Institute of Philosophy
• deadline: usually 30 April each year
Josef Dobrovský Fellowship
• short-term study stays (2-6 weeks) of young foreign researchers (usually aged up to 35) at the institutes of the Czech Academy
• intended for researchers who need to study the sources and materials in the Czech Republic
• awarded by the Czech Academy of Sciences
• deadline: it is advised to apply early each year for study stays realized in the same year
Doctoral programme with Charles University
• the CMS cooperates in Ph.D. study programme "Medieval and Neo-Latin Studies" at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University
• researchers from the CMS are able to supervise dissertations dealing with a range of topics related to Latin sources from medieval Central Europe
• the Institute of Philosophy offers an internship to support Ph.D. students financially
• deadline for applications: 30 April 2021 (admission exam: 14-16 June 2021, start of study: September 2021)
Fida Pfister Scholarship
• a bursary for Ph.D. students from the Czech Republic to conduct research in Constance, Germany, for two weeks
• awarded by the Hus Museum Society, the CMS, and the University of Constance
• deadline: TBA
